1. Overview

This policy describes what data the vibebit.app website and the VibeBit app for macOS process, why it is needed and what rights you have. By using the website or the app you agree to this policy.

The core principle of the product is locality: VibeBit runs on your Mac, requires no account and collects no telemetry. We process only the minimum of data without which it is impossible to sell a license and keep it working.

2. Data collected by the website

The e-mail address you provide at checkout — the license key is sent to it; it is also used for support and for restoring access to your key.

Order data: the chosen plan, payment status and identifier, currency. We never receive or store card details — payments are processed entirely by the payment provider platega.io.

Anonymised visit statistics via Yandex Metrica: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referral source and purchase events (plan and amount). This data is used in aggregate form to improve the website.

Browser-local data (localStorage): your theme and language choice, the license key used to sign in to your account page and a one-time token for receiving the key. These values live only in your browser and are sent to the server only when you open the account or key page yourself.

3. Data processed by the app

Everything related to your AI agents — transcripts, hook events, session statuses — is read and processed strictly locally on your Mac. None of it is uploaded anywhere; there are no accounts and no telemetry.

The app makes network requests in three cases only: the official Anthropic API to show your own limits (the request goes directly with your own credentials, bypassing our servers), our license server for activation, trial and update checks, and downloading an update.

During activation and trial the app sends the license key (not for the trial), an anonymous device identifier (a salted SHA-256 of the system UUID — the original UUID cannot be recovered from it) and, optionally, the device name for the Devices list in your account.

4. Purposes of processing

Issuing the license key and delivering it by e-mail; operating the license — binding it to a device, tracking the update quota, revoking it in case of a refund; responding to support requests.

Analysing website traffic in aggregate to improve the site, and meeting legal obligations such as tax and accounting requirements.

5. Payments

Payments are processed by platega.io. Card and payment credentials are handled entirely on the provider side. We receive only your e-mail, the plan, the payment status and identifier — enough to issue the key and help with support requests.

6. Sharing with third parties

Data is shared only with the services that make the product work: platega.io (payments), Yandex Metrica (website analytics) and our hosting provider (infrastructure). We may disclose data when required by law. We never sell personal data.

7. Storage and protection

All traffic between your browser, the app and our server is encrypted (TLS). Access to the license database is restricted; license responses are signed with a cryptographic key. Order and license records are kept for as long as the license is active and as long as accounting rules require.

8. Your rights

You may request a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, or withdraw consent by writing to support@vibebit.app. Note that deleting license records means the key stops working — we will warn you before doing so.

9. Cookies and localStorage

Yandex Metrica sets its own cookies; you can block them in your browser settings. Our own values in localStorage (theme, language, key) can be removed at any time by clearing site data — the website stays functional.
